Homes in Ste. Geneviève

Ste. Geneviève is part of Winnipeg and the Red River Valley. Winnipeg anchors the largest metro area in Manitoba, and the communities along the Red and Seine Rivers keep growing as families look for bigger lots just outside the city.

Winnipeg mixes century old character homes with post war bungalows and large post 2000 suburbs, while the surrounding communities are full of newer builds on generous lots, often with heated shops and long gas runs to the house. Deep frost lines and huge temperature swings make proper venting, condensate protection and combustion air more important here than in milder cities. Our technicians who work in Ste. Geneviève see these patterns every week and come prepared for them.

Weather and your equipment

Southern Manitoba has one of the harshest heating climates on the continent. Furnaces can run almost without pause for weeks in January, and heavy snow drifts bury vents, meters and outdoor equipment. Summers are warm enough to keep air conditioners busy too. That is why we recommend Ste. Geneviève homeowners schedule furnace and fireplace maintenance in early fall and air conditioner maintenance visits in spring, before the first heat wave arrives.
